Excellence Made Fun

Getting better doesn’t have to be a grind.
In my experience, fun and excellence feed each other - when players are having fun, they work harder, stay curious, and improve faster. And, bonus, getting better makes the game even more fun. And thus, the virtuous cycle.

Over the last 10+ years I’ve done just about everything in hockey coaching. I’ve worked with:

  • Skill levels: first-time skaters through NCAA D1 & D3 athletes

  • Ages: U10s to college players (plus dozens of “learn-to-play” adults)

  • Roles: volunteer coach, goalie coach, learn to play coach, assistant coach, skills coach, and head coach, including building a college program from the ground up.

Wherever you or your player are starting from, we’ll build a clear plan, have a lot of fun, and get noticeably better on and off the ice.

Whatever you’re looking to do with hockey, I’d love to help!

Schedule your session

I offer a variety of on and off ice programming.

  • On-Ice

    • Group Sessions (60 Minutes): Up to 4 players. Especially great for families looking to save a little extra and bring a friend.

    • One on One Session (60 Minutes): Just me and the player. Focused and fully customized work.

  • Off-Ice (Typically 30 Minute Blocks) - contact me so we can build a custom plan for your specific needs. This can include any and all of the below:

    • Film Review - I break down real game clips so the player sees exactly what’s happening, what went well, and where they can make some adjustments, both mind and body.

    • Board Talks - Chalk-talk style sessions to understand systems, tactics, and concepts so their brain matches their feet.

    • Off-ice Skills - Shooting, stickhandling, and puck-control work away from the rink so they’re ready to use those skills when the ice time matters. This has great bang for the buck as far as game application goes.

    • College Advising - I was on the other side of recruitment for years. I have a good knowledge of the landscape and can advise families on the best way to go about the college recruitment process.

Off-ice sessions can be 1:1 or small group. Contact me to build a custom plan and schedule.

About Me

I have formally been a coach in the Front Range area since 2015. My coaching career began simultaneously with the CU Women’s Hockey Team and the Learn to Play Program for the CU Rec Center. My first year I served as the goalie coach for the women’s team while I built the Learn to Play Program. By year two, I was the main assistant for CU and had built the Learn to Play Program from a half-dozen participants to a maxed out class at 25.

The next year I moved to Denver and began coaching for the University of Denver Women’s Hockey team, where I was an assistant coach for two years and the head coach for 6. I saw the program through Covid and grew the program from, at it’s lowest point of 5 players coming out of Covid, to 30 players by the end of my tenure.

I currently coach for the 14ers where I am the head coach of the 12UB team, working to develop the next generation of women hockey players.

I specialize in customizing performance coaching for a player’s needs, on and off the ice, so they can realize whatever goals they have for the game, from an adult learning the game for the first time to a player reaching for their college dream.
